COVID-19 highlights the acute need for non-invasive, point-of-care, remote monitoring

hemodynamic measurement solutions. Find out how CPS meets the need.

Reimbursement

A Reimbursement Pathway for Non-invasive Hemodynamic Assessment

CPT code 1036T image.png

Effective July 1, 2026, a new Category III CPT® code1036T, provides a dedicated pathway for non-invasive hemodynamic assessment. The code describes a single assessment that measures pulmonary pressures and ejection fraction when performed, through the passive acquisition of acoustic and electrical signals, applies augmentative algorithmic analysis, and produces a clinical report that a physician or qualified health care professional reviews, interprets, and integrates into care

Three elements of that description define the category:

  • Passively acquired acoustic and electrical signals. The pathway is built around a measurement approach that captures acoustic and electrical signals passively. This is the foundation of the Sensydia Cardiac Performance System (CPS).

  • Augmentative algorithmic analysis. The code recognizes AI that augments the clinician using acquired signals to compute hemodynamic measures that are validated against reference right heart catheterizations.

  • Physician or qualified health care professional interpretation and clinical integration. This CPT code reflects both the technology and the clinical work: the physician's or qualified health care professional’s review, interpretation, and integration of the result into patient care.

Reimbursement for Category III codes is set by payers and contractors. Reimbursement levels of $800-$1,000 are anticipated based on comparable CPT codes that provide augmentative AI analysis, performed and billed as a single episode of care.
